Hey guys! My name is Danielle and I LOVE to cook (and share life’s adventures). That’s what this blog will be about, basically. So if that’s your thing, join me! We’ll cook fun, creative, delicious recipes and have amazing experiences to go along with them. Huzzah!

A little bit about me….So me and my husband, Randy originally started a blog when we were over-the-road truck drivers along with our two dogs, Ludo and Rogue. We had sooooo many adventures on our travels, a lot of which I’ll go into detail about on this blog. But, that’s where the name of this page came from. We lived on our truck and our kitchen was…well, tiny.

But we still managed to cook (and eat) lots of amazing food.
And see lots of beautiful sights.

We’ve had a lot of adventures too, but like I said, I’ll go into more detail about those later.
We are no longer living on the truck. Circumstances forced us off the road (at least for now) and the dogs have since passed away.
Ok, OK. Since you asked, I’ll tell you what happened. This was at the beginning of March 2025. We were at the shop getting the generator fixed on the truck. We got a phone call from Randy’s sister saying his mom was in the hospital. Fortunately, because we didn’t have a load yet, we were able to just head on home to be with her. And we were only a drive shift away. Unfortunately, we found out she had cancer. So, we decided to go back out on the road for a few more months and then make a plan to come home to stay so we could spend as much time with her as possible. She’s defying the odds, by the way, and still going strong.
Well, on our Easter break, Good Friday to be exact, and we were visiting her. While we’re off the truck, the dogs have their routine. They have water, treats and the generator is going, giving them AC. So they’re comfy. We’ve never had any problems, and we keep the truck well maintained. But this time, we get a phone call. The truck is on fire. And we’re an hour away. Here’s what the truck looked like before…..

I have to say….that was the longest drive of my life. I felt like I was in one of those crime shows where the relative is trying to reach their murdered loved one. The fire truck and police were already there. They still don’t know what caused the fire.

Rogue was already gone when we got there. Smoke inhalation. She would greet us with an amazing smile (looked like a snarl if you didn’t know her). She was mischievous, smart and sweet as can be and our little psycho.
They managed to bring Ludo back. We took him to my parents house, they were amazing enough to let us spend the night unexpectedly. We took him to the emergency vet because his breathing was getting worse. I mean, he HAD just been through a whole fire. They put him on oxygen, but it wasn’t helping. He wasn’t looking good, and they said his prognosis wasn’t good either. So we made the decision to put him to sleep that night. I personally think he came back that day just to say goodbye to us.

Ludo was our big baby. 80 pounds of lapdog. He would just sit there and look at me with his puppy dog eyes. He shared all my snacks with me and was an amazing cuddler.
I miss them both terribly.
But the world keeps turning. And we may get slowed down for a bit, but we’re not stopping.
We don’t know what the future holds for now, we’re in a bit of a transistion phase in life. We might even go back out on the road. Who knows.

But I hope you come on this crazy life journey with me. I’ll see ya on the inside!
